The people living in the area made the lake a sacred grove and started worshipping it. The species
population of the lake again became normal.

The value that can be withdrawn from case 2 is the sincerity of native people towards nature who make a lake a sacred grove and start worshipping it in order to maintain the biodiversity of that lake.

Biodiversity may be defined as the sum total of all the living entities living in a particular area at a given time.

For maintaining the biodiversity of the forest as well as a lake, it is required not to deteriorate the natural ecosystem of those regions by human activities like over grazing, forest fires, over harvesting, industrialization, etc.
