Someone would feel the need to stand up against those in power due to the fact that once someone gains power they are deluded in their power which causes them to abuse their power. Some of the people who have sworn to protect us do so. Although not everyone who has sworn to protect us has, some examples of times where people have protected us are the making of the Deceleration of Independence and Constitution of the USA. The making of these documents allows us to have the rights to do stuff til this day. It protects our rights and our Independence.
