First you would divide, 5/b = 45/36 = 5/b -> 5/4.
You then will multiply all terms by same value
. B • 5/b -> B• 5/4,
then cancel which leads you to 5 = B • 5/4.
Now reorder to have 5 = 5/4B. Combine multiple terms into having 5= 5/4 b -> 5 = 5b/4,
Cancel multiplied terms that are on denominator, 4 • 5 = 4 • 5b/4, 4 • 5 = 5b
Multiply numbers
4 • 5 = 5b
20 = 5b
Divide both sides of the equation by the same term
20 = 5b
20/5 = 5b/5
Which leaves you left with b = 4.
