Find the volume of the following

Given:
A prism with right triangular base.
Base of triangle = 6 ft
Height of triangle = 8 ft
Height of prism = 7
To find:
The volume of the given prism.
Solution:
The volume of prism is:
[tex]V=Bh[/tex] ...(i)
Where, B is the base area and h is the height of the prism.
In the given figure, the base of the prism is a right angle triangle with legs 6 ft and 8 ft. So, the area of the base is:
[tex]B=\dfrac{1}{2}\times base\times height[/tex]
[tex]B=\dfrac{1}{2}\times 6\times 8[/tex]
[tex]B=\dfrac{48}{2}[/tex]
[tex]B=24[/tex]
Substituting [tex]B=24,\ h=7[/tex] in (i), we get
[tex]V=24\times 7[/tex]
[tex]V=168[/tex]
Therefore, the volume of the prism is 168 cubic ft.
