Answer :

x+y=28 cause they sold 28 items and it's not given how many of those items were tacos and burritos

and
2.50x+4.25y=98 cause $2.50 per taco, $4.25 per burrito, and they made $98 altogether so its system of equations

x+y=28
2.5x+4.25y=98

there's 3 ways to solve this but imma do substitution

x+y=28
-x -x
y=28-x

2.5x+4.25(28-x)=98
2.5x+119-4.25x=98
-1.75x+119=98
-119 -119
-1.75x=-21
divide both sides by -1.75
x=12 so that means 12 tacos so now you can plug this value into the other equation:

x+y=28
12+y=28
-12 -12
y=16 burritos

so 12 tacos and 16 burritos!
