another way you can get these answers is by cross multiplying. In order to do that you need to identify the percent, the whole (of), and the part (is). In identifying the whole and the part, look for the word is, and the word of. The number that is associated with is either the part or the whole. (There is 6 out of 80, what is the percentage?) always set the percentage out of a hundred.
So from there we set up the proportion:
