Help guys please !!!

Answer:
is this for a Trig class? as follows
Step-by-step explanation:
we need SOH CAH TOA to help us remember the sine and cosine and tangent relationships in a triangle
soooo.........
SOH is Sin ( Ф ) = Opp / Hyp
CAH is Cos ( Ф ) = Adj / Hyp
TOA is Tan ( Ф ) = Opp / Adj
since we know one angle and one side.. but not the Hyp side.. let's use TOA
tan(60) = Opp / 2
2* tan(60) = Opp
now you have to have the sin and cosine table in your memory :O do you?
if you remember that tan = sin/ cos this will help then if you remember that sin(60) = [tex]\sqrt{3}[/tex]/2 that will help too
cos(60) = 1/2 then make those both in a a fraction together
the twos will cancel out and leave [tex]\sqrt{3}[/tex] so thats what tan(60) is, or just have tan(60) on speed dial in your brain :P to remember it. anyway.....
so you now know... 2[tex]\sqrt{3}[/tex] = y on our triangle
now we'll need Pythagorean theorem formula C^2 = A^2 + B^2
put what we know into the formula
[tex]C^{2}[/tex] = [tex]2^{2}[/tex] +(2*[tex]\sqrt{3}[/tex])^2
[tex]C^{2}[/tex] = 4 + 4*3
[tex]C^{2}[/tex] = 4 + 12
[tex]C^{2}[/tex] = 16
C = 4
so x = 4
y = 2[tex]\sqrt{3}[/tex]
