Taylor runs a fruit store. She started Tuesday with 10 pears in stock. During the day, she sold 8 pears and got a shipment of fresh pears. The shipment contained 5 times as many pears as she started the day with. How many pears does Taylor have in stock at the end of the day?

10 pears and she sold 8..
10-8=2

she started with 10, so we multiply that by 5..
5 x 10 = 50

we add how many she had (2) to the ant she got in her shipment (50) to get our tots of 53 pears!
50 + 2 = 52
