Aksum environment, for example, was mostly agricultural, while Swahili had more coastal plains and swamp areas with fertile ground. Their religions were all completely different. Great Zimbabwe believed in spirits, Aksum was polytheistic before it was Christian, and the Swahili religion was Islamic.
